Finally my first blog post of 2016! It seems pretty obvious that I have been putting more effort in my Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook pages these past months than in this blog. So let’s make it part of my new year’s resolutions to keep updating it on a regular basis!
Right before Christmas I was approached by TON Magazine – a Dutch publication aimed at people working in the transport and logistics industry – to capture some images of Brian Parijs, a young Dutch truck driver that has been working in Canada for the past 2 years. The photos will be used to illustrate a 6-page article about Brian in the next issue of TON Magazine. What a treat!
The assignment at CJM Trucking Ltd. located in Fort Saskatchewan (Sturgeon County) consisted of showing Brian at work, interacting with his colleagues and capturing his portrait as well. This basically included some of the elements that I like the most about this job: candid shots, editorial portraits and big machinery. For the techies, the exteriors photos were all captured in natural light and the interior portraits were lit using 2 Profoto heads and modifiers.
I guess that I can now tick the “shoot for a Dutch magazine” box off my 2016 wish list!
